Does the Stress Test apply to you?

The stress test was introduced in Jan 2018 to hedge against the anticipated rising interest rates.  Buyers had to qualify for a mortgage 2% above the posted rate. For example, if the posted rate is 3.5%, the buyer will have to qualify for a monthly payment at a rate of 5.5% to ensure they can make payments if/when the mortgage rates increase.  As your Mortgage Agent, we have access to lenders who use alternate calculations to determine the lending amount, in turn, putting you in a favourable position to purchase your home.
